About the wine
Heathcote Estate was established in 1999, on the famous strip of 500 million year old Cambrian soil that defines the heart of the region. This limited edition magnum bottling (only 320 magnums made) marks the 20th anniversary of the planting of the vineyard.
The 2019 vintage was excellent, producing a classic Heathcote Estate shiraz. A dry winter led into an early spring with good rainfall over the period up until the new year. January and February were hot and dry and warmer than average. The vintage was fast paced with an extended hot spell during late February and March accelerating ripening. Shiraz performed well with the overall quality very good, and we picked the fruit at the right time (earlier than average) capturing the fruit at the right moment. A true vigneron’s vintage.
