The inaugural release of our Single Vineyard Nebbiolo.
Our Nebbiolo block is a new section of vineyard established in 2017, and has been organic from the ground up. It was officially certified organic in September 2021 and from the 2022 vintage this will be reflected on the label. Picked in mid-April, it was harvested 7 weeks after the shiraz. This extended ripening well into autumn means the wine has ample time for flavour and tannin ripeness, without the stress of the at-times extreme heat of a Heathcote summer.
After the long dry spell through 2019-2020, the 2021 season thankfully started with a nice wet winter, replenishing the water supply and the ground water. Spring was mild and uneventful, and the summer was another relatively mild one, without any serious heat spikes.
