OUR STORY

Yabby Lake Vineyard was established by the Kirby family in 1998, in Tuerong, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula.  Over almost two decades, the vineyard has built a reputation for single vineyard chardonnay and pinot noir of great purity and character.

Our sister winery, Heathcote Estate was planted in 1999 on the ancient Cambrian soils that define the heart of the region. The 500-million-year-old soils are integral to the distinctive characters in these special wines.  The Kirby family established Heathcote Estate with the sole objective to make one wine – a single vineyard shiraz.

In 2022 we expanded our pinot noir footprint into Campania, in the Coal River Valley in Tasmania.  Securing a 12 hectare property and producing our first vintage in 2023, we are excited about the future of wine in Tasmania and our next chapter.
