The fruit was handpicked on 17 March. Hand sorted and gently destemmed into traditional French oak open fermenters (no whole bunches). Following a four-day soaking, the natural yeast fermentation proceeded. The wine was pressed off skins after 17 days, into tight grain 500L French oak puncheons (20% new), matured in oak for 11 months and bottled in February 2018. No additions except so2.
The Block 6 Pinot Noir is dark fruited and nuanced with fragrance and spice. The wine is long, penetrating and energetic, with a superb silken texture. Stored carefully, this wine will age gracefully for 10-15 years.
